я видел скан вчера своими глазами, там было написано что михавк лучший фехтовальщик.

Вот тебе про твой VIZ пост с реддита.
Viz translations versus online scanlations...
They're both equally inaccurate. People say the online scans are inaccurate because they use cuss words (which don't exist in Japanese language) and that they're not translated by professionals.
But... Viz translations aren't much different. Instead of cuss words, they replace 80% of the Japanese heritage with American phrases. That's possibly worse than the online cuss words, since the cuss words at least accurately portray the feelings of the characters to me as an American.
You might say, "pshhh Viz doesn't do that!" but I recently purchased the two box sets and see it every few pages. Replacing "onibaba" with "ogresses" isn't exactly accurate to me. Using words like "shucks," "darn it," "what in NEPTUNE'S name is going on?!" and so on aren't really much different than what online translations do.
Now one might bring up that cuss words don't exist in Japanese and that's the entire reason why Viz doesn't have any in their translations, but it's fairly clear that certain words that are less formal are more offensive. Something that is more offensive is basically what a cuss word is. And Viz does the exact same thing. I don't think the vocabulary words for "darn," "shucks," "that smarts," and so forth exist in Japanese language. In reality, it's impossible to perfectly translate one language to another.
I only bring this up because of how much I see, "Scanlations=pure trash and Viz=pure gold" on this reddit site. I just don't think one is better than the other. There are things I like from both of them.
And just because something is made from a 'professional' doesn't make it good, does it? By society standards, celebrities and artists who are on the radio are the pros. This doesn't mean we can instantly call anyone on the radio good and everyone else trash at what they do.
A lot of people who translate online put a lot of work into and explain their reasoning for everything. They've studied Japanese or grew up learning Japanese and actually try to portray it in the best quality possible. This is basically the same as what Viz tries to do, only Viz has a reputation. That's a bit unfair of an argument at this point.
The way I see it, Viz is appropriate for all ages (by censoring) and scanlations are more 'vulgar' and directed an older audience.
Just a random thought now that I've read through 46 volumes of One Piece.
